canvas + burlap + wooden letter + tacks = easy, fun, Saturday night craft!
As I was pinteresting (I think that is an acceptable verb?!) earlier I stumbled across the picture below and knew I wanted to recreate this look to spruce up the area beside our beside tables in our bedroom! (click here for the original source)
I have been looking for a creative way to decorate with a wooden "G" and "J" that Gray and I used in our wedding and Wa-La...today was the day I discovered what I should do!
In order to complete this craft all you need is:
- canvas (I used two 11x14)
- burlap (1.5 yards should be plenty to cover two 11x14 canvases)
- wooden letter(s)
- spray paint (if you want paint the letters)
- decorative tacks
- hot glue gun
- scissors
The first thing I did was cut enough burlap to cover the canvas and tightly secure the burlap over the canvas with tacks and hot glue.
After I covered both canvases with burlap, I added the decorative tacks. This is where you can get creative and use what ever type/color of tack your heart desires, you can even put them in any design you want! I would love to see what you come up with. :)
The letters sure do add a lot to our room! We are slowly but sure making our bedroom more "homey"! It's funny how it seems to always be the most neglected room in the house when it comes to decorating.. my excuse for that is because we only sleep in there so we aren't awake to enjoy the decor. Logical right?!
Speaking of bed rooms, we recently transformed our
Have a great evening!
