Snow Day
If you are anything like me, you love relaxing nights cuddled on the couch with your favorite.
You see, we had a blizzard little bit of snow in Tiger Town today which naturally led to work ending at 3:30pm, pajamas and slippers on by 5:00pm, cancelled plans, and my sweet hubby by my side! (It also led to everyone is South Carolina bombarding local grocery stores to buy all of the bread and milk on in stock but I won't go into all of that! ;-))
Tonight has been the epitome of relaxing and I am very thankful.
Happy Birthday Gray!
Yesterday I had the joy of celebrating Gray's 25th birthday! The day started with coffee and omelets from a local hole in the wall (pictured below) in Clemson.
Next up was work which included a lunch date at Red Bowl (anyone else LOVE sushi?!?!). After work I had a present and cake waiting on Gray for when he got home. His gift this year was bedroom slippers… can you say old married couple?!?!
After he opened his gift, we pigged out at J.Peters… Finding a theme here? We love good food… so it was only fitting Gray ate like a king on his birthday! After dinner we had birthday cake (not sure how it was even appetizing after all of the food we had----of but it was!)
Lastly we watched an episode of Sherlock while I did my best to stay awake (I deserve an award).
Thankfulness
- Thankful that the Lord saw it fitting to knit Gray and I together as husband and wife.
- Thankful that we are able to go and do and celebrate.. God has proven himself faithful in his provision for us countless times.. Why are we still so surprised when he provides? (Phil 4:19)
- Thankful to be married to a man who loves the Lord and leads me to grow in Godliness.
- Thankful for laughs, fun, and someone who I can be absolutely ridiculous with.
- Thankful for God's grace in good times.
- Thankful for God's sustaining grace in difficult times. He really does give us our DAILY grace to sustain us for that day. How good is our God? (2 Corinthians 12:9) (Isaiah 41:10) Lamentations 3:22-23)
- Thankful for healing and hope that is found only in Christ.
- Thankful for joy that is inexpressible and unquenchable. (Psalm 16:11)
- Thankful for the salvation that I have through the redeeming power of Jesus Christ crucified. (Romans 1-6)
- Thankful that he is sovereign and in control of all things. ALL things. (Ephesians 1:11-12) (Lamentations 3:37) (Isaiah 46:9-10)
Therefore, brothers,3 since we have confidence to enter qthe holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by rthe new and living way that he opened for us through sthe curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we haveta great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts usprinkled clean vfrom an evil conscience and our bodies wwashed with pure water. 23 xLet us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for yhe who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:19-23 ESV)
