Oh the places you'll go!

Hello from Texas!!

This time last week I was finishing up my last work week at Crosspoint Church and looking forward to soaking up last minute time with our beloved friends at a going away party for Gray and I!

Fast forward to this week, and life looks a little whole lot different. We are now in Midlothian, TX and on central time. (I discovered this when I turned on the tv at 8pm on Monday night to find out the Bachelor had already been on for an hour!! RUDE! Needless to say I won't be making that mistake again.. ;-))

In this post I am going to try my best to recap the last week of our lives so our family and friends can see what we've been up to.

Enjoy!

Last weekend my mom, sister, and her boyfriend spent the weekend with us. This was the last time I will see them until May. If y'all are reading this, I miss y'all already!! (The weekend before, we were in Camden with my sweet in-laws, but I sadly didn't get any pictures to document!! )

On Tuesday night we had our last CP Group. Gray and I have really enjoyed leading a college small group the last two years. We have been blessed tremendously by the relationships made. I know I am going to miss all of my girls, but I am so thankful for technology. :) I pray as we leave, that the Lord continues to make himself known to everyone in our small group and that they walk closely with him. Love you guys! We will skype in soon! Also- check out this awesome cake… I mean have you EVER seen a cake with frowny face balloons?!? One of my sweet friends Kayla said that they requested frowny faces on the balloons because the cake looked too happy! haha

On Wednesday night we had a going away party thrown by my dear friend Jenna. We will always treasure this night. On the car ride home, Gray and I talked about how blessed we have been through our friendships and how much we love the community that the Lord gave us while at Crosspoint.

This was on Friday right before we were leaving to make the trip to our new home! We weren't nervous at all! ;-)

Bye, 1205 Crosswinds Lane… you were good to us. :)

We had to swing by and get a final pic of our church before leaving. We love this place. It is here where I experienced tremendous growth in more ways than I can say.

Fast forward 11 hours in our trusty Explorer, an overnight stay in Clinton, Mississippi, and here we are at Strawn's Eat Shop in Shreveport, Louisiana. This was a local hole in the wall that Gray found on Yelp. (To all my Clemson peeps- this place reminded me of PAWS! :-/) Gray said because I was such a trooper I got to pick where we ate dinner.

…….and we made! (well kind of, we still had a few hours to go at this point)

We look like total tourists. Oh well. :)

Our new home sweet home!

We made it to Texas on Saturday afternoon but decided to stay in Plano on Saturday night before going to Midlothian on Sunday afternoon. We created a mini vacay in Plano. We stayed in a cute hotel close to downtown, so on Saturday night we walked around, ate a delicious dinner at Half Shell and then had the most delicious dessert.. (see picture below for proof)

After a very restful night, we stumbled into 'The Original Pancake House'  for a big ole' breakfast! (I wish I would have snapped a few pictures, because this place was pretty neat… I will next time because we definitely plan to go back!)

When we were leaving the Pancake House I looked to the right and there it was… IKEA!!! I immediately knew where we were going next. I love that place.. it never disappoints.

We made it to Midlothian around 3pm on Sunday. For the next few months we are living in an adorable garage apartment owned by one of the Pastors at FBC. We are SO thankful for the hospitality of the Condray's in letting us get to know the area and save while we look for a more permanent home!

On Monday I had the joy of taking my sweet husband to his first day of work at FBC Midlothian. (Yes I know- it looks like it is his first day of school.. but ya gotta do what ya gotta do when you are operating with one vehicle! haha)

He had an awesome first day. He was overwhelmed with everyone's kindness. I am SO proud of him and know that he is going to do a grew job. We are both just so excited and ready to start "doing life" with the people at FBC Midlothian. We are thankful to the Lord for always leading us and providing. We serve a GREAT God!

Tonight we have Elevate (the youth program on Wednesday nights… there is typically singing, a sermonette, and fellowship.) Gray and I have both been asked to share our testimonies during this time!

A few prayer requests:
  • Pray for us as we share our testimonies tonight at Elevate.
  • Pray that we connect with the students and parents as we begin interacting with them more.
  • Pray for Gray as he adjusts to his new position.
  • Pray for us as we seek to make friends with people in our new community.
  • Pray for our marriage, that we would honor each other and love each other well.
  • Pray that we would seek Jesus Christ above all things. That we would look to him for our joy and contentment and trust that he is before all things and holds all things together!

Thank you all for your love and support for us during this transition!
