Good morning! We have officially lived in Texas for a little over a month! It is amazing how fast this place has felt like home.
Last week was Spring Break for Midlothian ISD so Gray and I were in Memphis, TN on a mission trip with our youth. We had a wonderful time! I plan to go into more details in my next post so be on the look out if you are interested.
For now, enjoy my "top ten" list of our first month in Texas! (in random order)
1. Valentines Day
We had a great time celebrating Valentines Day in Plano/Frisco this year. We started off at The Original Pancake House for a yummy brunch (which has quickly become a favorite place for us) then went to IKEA to look around! We can't get enough of that place. Such a fun day exploring and spending time with my main squeeze! ;-)
2. My 24th Birthday
My birthday happens to be one week after Valentines Day, so we had another excuse to explore the city and play all weekend! After a lot recommendations, we decided to have brunch at Breadwinners in Dallas. It was DELICIOUS and we will be back ASAP! We enjoyed a slow morning, brunch, and lots of coffee then ventured to the North Park Mall for some b-day shoppin'! After a day of window shopping we had dinner at a sushi place in Arlington. I had a great birthday!

3. Gray Teaching
Every Wednesday night we have Elevate. This is a time where 160+ 7th-12th grade students come for fellowship, worship, and a message. They are in "The Story" series right now. This series is aimed to teach the students about the metanarrative of scripture and how it applies to their lives today. (We did this at Crosspoint recently- shout out to my Crosspoint peeps!) Gray has taught the first two weeks and did an outstanding job. I love watching him teach what he is passionate about and seeing the students respond. He is also teaching the next two weeks so please keep him in your prayers!
4. New Friends
We can't say enough how welcoming the people here are. It has been such a blessing to make new friends and see the Lord provide in that way. The picture below is from the Perot Museum in Dallas. One of my new friends invited me to go with her and her precious little girl Evi. we had a blast! ...Minus me getting attacked with a stomach virus on the way back… sorry Jordan! :-/
5. Time
I have really enjoyed slowing down a bit. I am in the process of looking for a job, but in the mean time I have loved cooking new recipes, keeping our little nest clean, talking to friends, going on walks, reading, and just having freedom in my schedule. I am soaking it up for as long as I can. ;-)
6. Fort Worth Stockyards
We had numerous people telling us to visit the stockyards in Fort Worth so we did and had a blast.
7. Rodeo
While we were at the Stockyards we managed to stumble upon free rodeo tickets for that evening and went to our first rodeo! YEE HAW!
8. FOOD
Those of your who know Gray and I well, know that we love good food! We have really loved trying new restaurants and figuring out what our new "go to's" will be! Our favorite place in Midlothian thus far is a burger place called Branded Burger! Thinking about it makes me want one NOW.
We recently went to a place in Ft.Worth called Joe T. Garcias and let me tell you… it is great! The atmosphere and food make it a perfect meal.
9. FBC Midlothian
Gray and I have loved worshipping at FBC Midlothian. Every week we leave challenged by the message and a desire to apply it to our lives. I am so very thankful for how the Lord is using FBC to impact lives for his Glory.
10. Street Reach Mission Trip with our Youth
The picture below is half of our group on our last day there. Stay tuned for my next post where I will tell you all about it! :)
Please continue to pray for our transition and ministry here!
